Alastair Campbell is Laundry Services Adviser in the Central Services Agency, which provides a range of support services to, and on behalf of, NHS organisations in Northern Ireland. A graduate of Aberdeen University, he was awarded the 1973 Giltbrook Prize in Advanced Laundry and Dry Cleaning Technology, and worked for Prudhoe and Monkton HMC and York Health District prior to taking up his current post in 1983. He has advised Trusts and Boards on the management of their laundry and linen services facilities and taken a lead in promoting good practice across the service as a whole. Over the years he has been deeply involved in Competitive Tendering exercises as Trusts strive for best value for money. His broad experience has led to a number of major consultancy assignments within the UK and other European countries, in both public and private sectors. He is a qualified Lead Assessor for ISO 9000 and UK Quality Award for Business Excellence, Ireland, and External Verifier for NVQs within the laundry and dry cleaning industries in Ireland. He is Secretary to the NI Health Economics Group. |
